A clinical study conducted by the University of Helsinki in Finland established the connection between oral health in childhood and heart condition in adulthood. In this study over 750 young children aged 6,9 and 12 were studied about their oral habits and health.

 After 27 years, a further study was conducted on the same individuals in their adulthood. The study found that a heart condition called Atherosclerosis showed more occurrence for adults who showed more instances of oral infections in their childhood. So it shows that oral health is very important right from childhood.
